What Is Your Excuse?

Hello dear friends!

It has been said that one of the greatest displays of human creativity is in how we make excuses.

We can conjure up the biggest, strangest, most fantastical stories when faced with our fear, to let us off the hook from doing the things that we really want to do. We put off our hopes, dreams, and goals, giving excuse after excuse, until we’re lying on our deathbeds, looking back with regret. We can come up with excuses for anything and everything- from little chores like taking out the trash, to huge aspirations like starting a small business. We’re too busy, too tired, too overweight, too poor…the list goes on and on!

Undoubtedly, you have a list of things you’ve always wanted to do, and a list of excuses just as long. Heck, I did for many years, and still do! You’ve probably thought up every excuse in the book to keep yourself from experiencing the fear that often comes with taking risks. And that’s normal! Our human brains are wired to avoid pain, and often that means avoiding anything that may end up in failure. We allow our fear to make excuses for us and keep us trapped in the corner, unable to move. But what kind of life is this? Is this one you really want to live?

Within your excuses you can tease out the exact things you are most afraid of. Whether your deepest fears involve money, social standing, intimate relationships, or something else, you can always hear these voices mirrored in your own, as you utter yet another excuse for why you’re not following your dreams. But the truth is, just like many of our fears, our excuses are fabricated in our imaginative little minds.

Remember that your fears are “paper tigers,” and so, your excuses are like the flimsy cages that we attempt to keep these tigers confined in. We work so hard to control and manage our fears with our excuses, that it saps our energy and silences our inner voice of Divine truth. On a vibration level, each time you make an excuse, you shrink your frequency.

Each self-justification makes your energy field smaller, robbing you of the strength, courage, and capabilities that you were born to enjoy.

On the flip side, each time you look past your excuses and decide to take a risk instead, you expand your energy field. Every time you say a hearty “yes” to your dreams, you raise your vibration to a higher level, and put yourself even more into the flow of universal abundance. Your excuses are keeping you small, when really, being expansive, powerful, and spacious is your birthright. It’s normal to feel the limitations of this human existence sometimes, but that doesn’t mean that you have to let fear run your life.

When you learn to let go of your excuses, you make space for miracles. When you can turn your face up to the sky and surrender to the possibilities that the Universe has in store for you, you can fill your days with joy, excitement, and purpose.

Maybe you've been putting off calling that person you feel a connection with? Perhaps you've wanted to hire a coach, but can't ever seem to "find the money?" Maybe you've desired to travel, to start a business, to leave your partner...whatever it is, you already know deep down, that this will be a good move for you. But your limiting beliefs are holding you back.

So, I'll ask you right now:

What do you want your life to look like, one year from now?

See it clearly in your mind. Feel what it's like to inhabit your body. Notice the things and people around you. How is your love life? Career? Friendships? Spiritual practice?

Allow this vision to envelop your whole self. And don't worry about the "how"...I can help with that. Reach out when you're prepared to set your excuses aside, and regain your sense of power again.

I'm ready when you are, my friend.

And until then...

~ Hoping you feel as well as possible ~
