About Me

Hi! I’m Mel.

I'm so glad you're here.

If you've landed on this page, there's a good chance you've been carrying something heavy- whether that's chronic symptoms, anxiety, OCD, burnout, overwhelm, or simply the feeling that you've been stuck in the same patterns for far too long.

My work is about helping people find another way.

I believe that our minds and bodies are remarkably adaptable. That we aren't broken. That we don't need to become different people in order to experience more freedom. And that when we begin to understand how our nervous system works, we can stop living in fear of ourselves and start participating in life again.

For years, I searched for answers in science, psychology, spirituality, and my own lived experience. Today, I bring all of those perspectives together to support people in practical, compassionate, evidence-informed ways.

My Story

My own journey began in 2009, a few weeks before I was slated to begin grad school, when I became suddenly and mysteriously ill.

What started as dizziness and fatigue quickly expanded into brain fog, headaches, insomnia, anxiety, heart palpitations, chronic pain, and a long list of diagnoses that seemed to grow every year. Over the next decade, I was told I had everything from ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia to Lyme disease, POTS, and PPPD. I tried countless treatments, restrictive diets, supplements, detoxes, and protocols- always believing the next thing might finally be the answer. I spent years and tens of thousands of dollars, stuck on the treadmill in various paradigms- the Western/conventional medicine, functional/alternative medicine, spiritual healing, and plenty more.

Eventually, I realized that the constant search had become part of the trap.

Learning about neuroplasticity and the mind-body connection completely changed the trajectory of my life. Instead of fighting my brain and body, I began learning how to work with it. Little by little, my world opened back up. Today I can hike, climb, travel, enjoy food again, build meaningful relationships, and do work that I genuinely love.

Recovery, for me, isn't about becoming perfect. It is about reclaiming my life.

That experience is the foundation of everything I do.

A Few More Things About Me

When I'm not working with clients, you'll usually find me hiking in the forest, rock climbing, playing Zelda, reading, tending to my garden, or planning my next adventure.

I'm endlessly fascinated by neuroscience, psychology, meditation, and the many ways humans learn, grow, and change. I love quiet mornings, beautiful music, being goofy with my friends, and finding wonder in ordinary moments.

I'm also currently completing my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I'm excited to expand my work into psychotherapy in the coming years. My vision is to continue creating a space where people feel deeply seen, understood, and supported- whether through coaching, therapy, courses, meditation, or simply a conversation that helps them see themselves a little differently.

My Approach

People often ask whether I'm "science-based" or "spiritual."

The answer is yes.

Before entering this field, I spent years working in scientific research, studying physiology, cell biology, biochemistry, and human metabolism. That background taught me how to think critically, evaluate evidence, and stay curious.

Over time, my path expanded to include meditation, somatic experiencing, Reiki, Qi Gong, and other practices that helped me reconnect with myself in ways science alone couldn't explain.

I've found that the most meaningful transformation often happens where evidence, experience, and intuition meet.

Rather than asking people to choose one worldview, I love helping them discover what genuinely supports them.

How I Work

No two people are exactly alike, so I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions.

Whether we're working together through coaching, Reiki, co-regulation, meditation, or one of my online courses, my goal is the same: to help you better understand yourself, feel safer in your own body, and build a life that isn't organized around fear.

Together we might explore neuroplasticity practices, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, self-compassion, emotional processing, values-based living, or practical tools for changing long-standing patterns. We always move at your pace.

My role isn't to fix you.

It's to help you recognize that there was never anything fundamentally wrong with you in the first place.

I'm Glad You're Here

If something on this website resonates with you, I hope you'll stick around.

Whether you're looking for personalized support, self-paced resources, or simply a fresh perspective, my wish is that you leave here feeling a little more hopeful- and a little less alone.

I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
